Network Technician - Level 1

Your Technical Profile

  • 1-2 years of solid networking knowledge, including OSI model, IP protocols, subnetting, and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, TCP/IP)

  • Proficient in VLAN configuration and troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with monitoring and support tools such as Logic Monitor, ServiceNow, and VMware VeloCloud Edge/Orchestrator (preferred)

  • Strong ability to quickly assess customer issues, triage complex problems, and manage incidents/escalations

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Juniper, Cyan, ALU/Nokias, CISCO ME3400/ME3600, Ciena, Accedian and Adva is a plus!

  • 1-2 years of experience in a network environment

  • Knowledge of SD-WAN products and services (preferred!)

  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, Cradlepoint, Digi, or other switch/routing technologies (a plus!) 

Your Daily Tasks

  • Install, disconnect, configure, and support network equipment (routers, switches, proxy servers, WAN accelerators, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  • Troubleshoot firewalls, routing, and switching to maintain network performance and security.

  • Investigate network issues related to service removals.

  • Update inventory systems after circuit removal.

  • Report network status and flag any potential disconnection-related incidents or downtime risks.

  • Update monitoring tools to disable alarms for the NOC.

  • Coordinate with operations teams to verify services and equipment tied to disconnected networks.
