Ideal Candidate Profile
What You'll Bring (Experience)
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
7–10 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a Finance Manager or leadership role.
Must have hands-on experience in Australian accounting and finance, including GST/BAS preparation, month-end reporting, cash flow management, and compliance with Australian financial regulations.
Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
A solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, taxation, and corporate governance.
Hands-on experience across core finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury.
The ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and turn insights into practical business recommendations.
Experience improving finance processes, systems, and reporting to drive greater efficiency.
Exposure to multi-entity businesses or fast-growing organisations is an advantage.
Experience supporting business growth, transformation projects, or mergers and acquisitions is highly regarded.

Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to help shape business strategy and drive growth.
Provide financial insights and recommendations that support smarter business decisions.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to keep the business on track.
Work closely with department leaders to improve financial performance and accountability.
Present clear, meaningful financial reports that help leaders make informed decisions.
Lead Financial Performance
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Monitor business performance, profitability, cash flow, and key financial metrics.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing practical recommendations for improvement.
Support forecasting and business planning with accurate financial analysis.
Partner with external accountants and auditors to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Drive Budgeting & Cash Flow
Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecast reviews.
Manage cash flow and working capital to support business operations.
Monitor budgets, investigate variances, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
Help the business make smart financial decisions while maintaining operational efficiency.
Ensure Strong Financial Operations
Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable, and financial controls.
Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain strong governance, risk management, and internal control practices.
Continuously improve financial processes to support business growth.
Improve Systems & Processes
Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve efficiency.
Drive automation and system improvements that enhance reporting and productivity.
Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Lead & Develop the Finance Team
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.
