About the Role
As a Senior Australian Tax Accountant, you'll provide tax and accounting services to Australian clients, prepare tax returns and financial statements, apply Australian tax legislation, manage your workflow, and collaborate with the team to deliver accurate outcomes while growing professionally in a global environment
What You'll Bring (Experience)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field
At least 6 years of relevant accounting experience
At least 6 years of experience working with Australian accounting and taxation
Strong experience preparing Australian tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, and Trusts
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian tax principles and legislatio
Strong experience preparing financial statements from adjusted trial balances
Hands-on experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
Experience with bookkeeping and general accounting
Xero Certified is highly preferred
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of Income Tax Law and Australian tax compliance
Working knowledge of GST, Division 7A, PSI, and non-commercial loss provisions
Strong understanding of Trust Law, Company Tax, and Capital Gains Tax, including SBE CGT provisions
Understanding of Family Tax Benefits and their application to client matters
Ability to apply tax knowledge across different entity structures
Strong understanding and application of accounting standards
Experience setting up and converting clients on Xero, including chart of accounts, bank feeds, historical data, and conversion balances

Australian Tax & Compliance
Prepare accurate tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, and Trusts
Apply Australian tax legislation to a wide range of client scenarios
Address tax matters involving GST, Division 7A, PSI, CGT, Trust Law, Company Tax, and non-commercial loss provisions
Research and resolve complex tax and accounting issues
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Prepare financial statements from adjusted trial balances
Prepare Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and Statements of Retained Earnings
Apply accounting standards and ensure accuracy across financial records
Review work carefully and take responsibility for the quality of completed deliverables
Be able to set up a client on Xero (Cloud based accounting software) – including but not limited to; chart of accounts, bank feeds, historical data, conversion balances
Manage chart of accounts, bank feeds, historical data, and conversion balances
Workflow & Client Support
Manage your own workflow in collaboration with the Manager
Monitor deadlines and proactively communicate delays or potential issues
Manage invoices and ensure accurate and timely billing
Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
Provide practical accounting and tax solutions that support positive client outcomes
